Hello,

i have a problem
i have one primary DC and only one Domain with the name of DTPC.COM
computers where all joined to domain
i reinstalled OS of one computer ( XP Pro ) and when i wanted to join pc to
domain i got an error that says "Your Computer could'nt join the domain --
The RPC server is unavailable"
i thought that the problem is only for that pc but i tested another pc, i
dejoined and then wanted to rejoin to domain but i got the same problem.

i scaned server with an updated Symantec Corporate AntiVirus and found
nothing,
my server is Window 2000 Server with almost all updates installed.
i checked IPS$ sharing and it was shared.
my dns seems to work proparely too because i can resolve names.

please help me resolve the problem.
thanks alot

Do you have the firewall enabled on your DC?

I solved the problem but i dont know how exactly because i did several
things :
1- DC NIC primary DNS was set to it's address 192.168.0.1 and i removed it.
2- i set the dns service to start before Net Logon service
3- changed DNS Type from AD to primary and reverse.

just that
hope i have found the solutions.
Thanks anyway
good luck for all Admins , bye bye , AMir
