Printing cuts off when printing to HP 400 series printer

We have recently upgraded a number of users to Windows XP
Pro. About a week after installing the upgrade, several
people began complaining about pages that would be cut
off when they were printed. Has anyone seen an issue
where the bottom 1/3rd of a page is missing? We have
tried installing new or different versions of the print
drives with no luck. We have a number of 4100 printers
and have no problems with them.

Thanks

This is a known problem with the HP 4000 series printer drivers.

Try the newer drivers from the HP web site
(http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/eng/software_drivers.html).

Note that if the Print Server is Windows NT 4, this may not fix the problem.
We found that we had to switch to a Windows 2000 print server to fix this.

Be aware also, that Word may have set the bottom margin in the document(s)
to 2.67 inches, so you may have to go into Page Setup for the document(s)
and set the margin back to what you really want (e.g. 1 inch).

I am using a deskjet 820 CXI with Win XP Pro and have the
same problem. XP forces you to use the Win XP driver in
my case. It stinks, the same printer on my laptop with
Win 98 works flawlessly. Is there a patch or something
to solve this?
