My 6 year older gaming PC is still flowing strong, its housing an AMD Phenom, AMD Radeon 5850, 8GB RAM and currently is now my wife's home PC, but this time I decided to go crazy and worked lots of overtime :)

You seem to be missing one very important software application that a pc with your specs needs to run!!!
You need Boinc on your pc and be a WCG Cruncher on this site, its free and worth £££ on the open market.
Have a think about it.

Thank you for the idea, I will certainly think about it. I do remember a friend at work mentioning something similar.

Well statistics say your 50% more likely to win the lotto, get promoted and live longer by crunching*

*= OK it is all a total lie but Crunching does make you feel good!!

Crikey @feckit!

@Chadeptus that's a nice set up you've got. It's been about 4 years since I built my PC, and sadly I don't have any excuses to upgrade it! :wall:

Good spec's. :)

I've been toying with upgrading, even if its just a 980ti or something, but its honestly hard to justify it at the moment. Diminishing returns and all that.

Indeed.

Here's mine, GTX970 added since that post https://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/my-skylake-build.4070148/

I think that's quite enough to spend on a PC for me, I'm also into Hi Fi, building my own equipment (Valve amps for instance) and spending too much on vinyl.

So, have to learn to divide my income.

But I'm happy, Doom's running real fine atm, looking good.

V_R you not notice the disclaimer at the bottom?
Dont mind if crunchers complaining about it, but others that dont are a bit cheeky too!
