PPT Clip Art/Organizer Error:Can't see Art/Won't Open/Can Paste fr

When I try to search Clip Art while in Powerpoint, the images do not
materialize in the Results area -- I just get boxes with notepad graphic on
them and "dglxasset..." or the boxes have chart symbols on them.

If I select one of these to paste I get the following error message: Clip
Art Oganizer Error 0x0004800C0005 -- or something similar.

At the same time, I am suddenly unable to paste and image into Powerpoint
that I copy from a website.

Clip art and the copy/paste function work fine in Word.
