PowerPoint viewer looses transitions, custom animations and fonts

Janie Long

I just got PowerPoint 2002. When I use pack and go to
show my presentations on another computer my transitions,
custom animations, and some fonts aren't there anymore. I
downloaded the viewer from Microsoft. Why am I loosing
these effects?

Probably because the pack and go uses the 97 viewer, which cannot handle the new 2002 effects. You need to find some other method i.e. burn to CD and don't use P&G until the new viewer is released sometime this year.

Who wha huh?!? I've been 'out of loop'. so what's this talk about a new viewer? M$ is finally going to give us a viewer for 2002? Or are you talking about the Office 2003 release that is supposed to adress viewer issues?

When Microsoft Releases 2003, they are supposed to release a new viewer. More info here http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00436.htm

Well spank me twice and call me Sally......and Office 2003 is just around the corner too. I'm sure it won't be EVERYTHING we hoped for, but it sure sounds like a HUGE improvement from the last release a mere 6 years ago.

Hats off to everyone who hit the MSWISH list and those that actually listened to it!
