powerpoint publisher

They are kinda apples and oranges, David, if you know what I mean. Each
program is based on different primary goals.

You can cut and paste everything from a slide in PowerPoint, copy it into
Publisher, but it will be just a poor quality picture of the slide. Also,
some things may not make the jump well, using this method, like:
- off the slide images
- alpha transparencies
- background images

But this is not all bad news. Once in Publisher, you can select the slide
image | Right click | Select Change object | Microsoft PowerPoint Slide ...
| Convert
.... and then be able to edit the slide while still in Publisher.
Essentially, you are embedding a PowerPoint slide object, except that (my
version) of publisher isn't as good graphically as PowerPoint.

It really depends on what you want to do with the image once it is there.
If you do not need to edit the image, you will get a better quality by
exporting the slide image from within PowerPoint to a jpg/png file and then
inserting the uneditable image from the jpg/png file into publisher.

Does this help?
