Powerpoint 2003 problem with playing movie clips directly on slide

Hi,
I just installed powerpoint 2003.I tried creating a slide with a movie clip
to play in the slide upon clicking it. I inserted the movie clip from a file
and chose the option of playing upon clicking. However, when i run the
slide, clicking doesn't activate the file. However, in edit mode of the
powerpoint, when i right click on the movie object and choose play movie, it
works.

Does the problem lie with powerpoint 2003 or is there something i forgot to
do?

First, be sure that you have applied Service Pack 1. Go to Help > Check for

it may be too deep in the directory structure..
move the file to your desktop and reinsert it.

test the movie in powerpoint/windows mci player
start -> run -> mplay32
