Power Point Presentations Not Opening as Presentations

I have Windows XP. When someone sends me a Power Point Presentation it is not
opening up like it should. Instead windows is asking what program to open it
up in, then it will open the whole program and from there I can then watch
the show. This didn't used to happen so I am wondering what I might have
changed. Please help, thank you!

On the dialog box that asks which program you want to use, you should see a
check box saying something like "Always use this program to open this file
type". Check it before you open the file and it should set a file
association that Windows will now recognize.

If not, holler back.
