ModTheBox.com have a review of the Power-Down Protector, a device that will supply the CPU Cooler with power for a short time after the power is turned off (helping to cool down the CPU properly). I'm not sure if this sort of device is really needed (with current generation CPUs).

Heat is a common dominator for all computer systems and arguably one could say that the peak temperatures of a CPU occur when it’s put under load for determined amounts of time. While this is common sense and partly true, we tend to forget that heat still lingers when a computer system is completely shut down. This issue is especially true if a system is overclocked, since the system components are operating higher than the manufacturers specification. PCMods has been a major player in the case mod community and is a name that is well known and trusted amongst case modders and enthusiasts alike. An innovative remedy to this issue has been developed and marketed under the name of the Power Down Protector. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Power Down Protector, a device which safely dissipates heat generated from a CPU processor when a system is powered off.
