Power connectors

Hi!

There are many leads that come out of the power supply. Each lead has three
connectors, 2 large ones with 4 holes and one with 3 holes(floppy)

2 Questions?

-Can I connect my two optical drives with just one lead?

-Can my hard drive and floppy also share 1 lead..

I ask this because I would then only have 2 leads coming down instead of 4
seperate ones. This is to reduce clutter.

Thanks

In a word ... yes. No problem.

If I might ask, what kind of power supply are you using? I haven't seen a
power supply with four separate power bus leads before ... that's a lot!

As a note ... the floppy power connector has 4 wires, same as the big plugs,
it's just smaller.

It's an Antec 300W. Came with the case.

It's my first time building a pc.

Good luck!

My first PC was wrought with troubles ... first time I hooked up the power
wrong to the mobo (AT type ... it was possible back then) and buggered it
badly. Fortunately the place I bought it from was quick to replace it
(though I didn't tell them about my little mistake) ;-)

But don't let it get you down ... PC's are much easier to assemble these
days.

Anything else you need to know, don't hesitate to ask.

Rofl! My first board was AT, as well. Had the two PSU plugs, backwards.
Fortunately, I didn't seat the damned CPU properly! Near miss hehehe.
