Obviously these "kids" are going to places on the net that Dad does not
know
about.

not true at all! you can get a virus like this just from opening an email
attachment or being at the wrong site at the wrong time.

I have been having pop-ups galore on my computer. Now
whenever I go to another website, porn pictures popup in
place of the original graphics that are suppose to be
there.

There is also a web address bar on my screen that comes
up with different porn address. I click it off but it
comes right back when I go to another site or another
screen.

Please help. I have a thirteen year old who also uses my
computer. His friends are on it too. I do not want
these things popping up. Even though I think they may
have entered the site previously. I do not want them
there ever again. How can I stop this from occuring?

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

Track them and ask them what the hell are you doing?

Content advisor may control it but it is querky.

Run "adware" and "Spybot" to remove apps that are running, however, this
will not stop them(kids) from going to the sites again.

Make sure your firewall is working.

Then there are Newsgroups that a person can go to and view. Search for any
alt.binaries and see what comes up. Or "alt.*"no quotes
There will be entries there for Outlook Express but there should be none
with sexual meaning.

Ask them what the hell are you doing?(Of course I do know what 13 year old
boys are doing)

Anita,
A colleague at work's kid 'accidentally 'clicked a pop-up (amongst a
blizzard of pop-ups) that installed a porn dialler.
That redirected their internet connection at premium rate call charges,
which were only picked up when the local Telco accounts phoned to inform
them that their bill was GBP1000, only a month into the quarter (their
average bill was usually about GBP150 a quarter.
The symptoms were as you describe.
Check that no dialler has been installed, and that you are in fact
connecting through your ISP (this is where broadband is great).
I've never had to use it in this context, but I have heard that either Ad
Aware or Spybot will pick up on these types of diallers. Perhaps someone
will know if this is true and confirm for us.
Check in Add/Remove programs for anything untoward - it might show up there
as dialler .exe or somesuch. If found, put the name into Google and do a
search, you may find removal instructions on the net.
Enable your XP firewall (type that into help and support for a step-by-step
set up) and install a pop-up killer such as
http://www.panicware.com/product_psfree.html - it's convenient in that its
easy to right click on and off for legitimate sites who use multiple
windows.
That should take care of the 'barely legal' type (-hey, you clicked OK!!).
A combination of anti-virus and spyware hunters should take care of the
illegal ones.
Oh - and be very sure before you give your kids a hard time. Remember, the
one thing nobody likes is injustice ;)
Hope this helps,
Chek

Greetings --

When visiting such the sites be careful not to download/install
their "free" viewers. ;-} To repair the current situation, uninstall
the "viewer(s)" provided and then use Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de
and SpyBot Search and Destroy from http://security.kolla.de/ to clean
up any residue. Both have free evaluation versions.
