Tom;
None of them are from Microsoft.
They may be Messenger Service ads:
No need to pay for the fix.
For Messenger Service ads:
You need to install or enable a firewall:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q330904&
Disabling Messenger Service can be a good idea, but it does not solve
the real problem.
The ads are not the real problem, the ads are only a symptom.
The real problem is open ports that allow unwanted traffic into the
computer.
Disabling Messenger does nothing for the open ports.
The firewall controls the traffic.

Internet Connection Firewall will not work if you have AOL.
AOL is not compatible with Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall
(ICF)
If you have AOL, you should contact AOL and/or get a 3rd party
firewall.

Disable Messenger Service:
Start/Control Panel, click Administrative Tools, click Services.
Go down to "Messenger".
Right click "Messenger" and select Properties.
Then under Start-up select DISABLE
Click OK and follow prompts

Check this link:

Run Ad-Aware (free version) or Spybot to check for spyware:

Or

For internet pop-ups, try one of these:

I had the same thing happen to me when I first signed on with comcast cable
internet. Do NOT buy anything because you don't have to. It is a world
class jerk of a thing to do to send these messeges constantly to people.
I'm sorry you are getting hit. Here is the solution...

Start->(right click)My Computer->manage.
Open tree node Services and Applications -> services
Scroll down to Messenger (this is the service that allows these popups to
happen)
It is on because usually you can't get through ISP's to your machine
using this service, it is cool to have to send messeges quickly to other
machines on your workgroup or domain.
Stop this service and your problem will be solved. (the little black
square)

Note!!!: If you are running any applications that rely on this service,
they may fail. I don't know of any that do, but if you get problems after
stopping the service restart it and see if it fixes the problem.

If you like and want to use the messenger service, what you need to do is to
get your own firewall. A netgear router will work nicely. Behind one of
these critters, nothing will be able to access your machine from the outside
without you initiating the connection yourself or explicitly set up the port
forwarding to make it happen. However on your side of the firewall you will
be able to communicate directly with other machines on your network using
net send using the messenger service.

You may want to send back a nasty message to whoever is sending these to you
by Start->Run cmd
net send /? for help with the syntax
so if Joe is the sender of the message try:
net send Joe Take off eh

Have fun
