Can anyone help me and tell me where the heck I'm going wrong?

I'm trying to perform a onw way synchronisation from NDS to AD, and
then after that migrate all the files ans security settings, then
decommission the Novell server. I'm having a issue with the directory
migration.

The details first...
Windows 2000-DC (SP-4)
Netware Client32 v4.9
MSDSS (SP-1)

First dialogue:
Novell Directory Services (NDS)
Migration (From NDS or Bindery to Active Directory)
Migrate files.

Second dialogue:
Active Directory Container:
LDAP://meloline.lan/OU=Meloline,DC=meloline,DC=lan
Domain Controller:
meloline1.meloline.lan

Third dialogue:
NDS container:
NDS://MELOLINE_GRP/O=MELOLINE_GRP
Username: Admin
Password: (The password assigned to it)

Error dialogue that follows the third dialogue:
MSDSS Novell Directory Services (NDS) Write Provider.
Windows cannot authenticate to NDS://MELOLINE_GRP/O=MELOLINE_GRP with
the supplied credentials: The network path was not found.

I didn't type any of the above. If given the option to browse for a
path in AD or NDS, I took that route. The NDS account I'm using to
authenticate to NDS is the top level administrative account.

Please, where am I going wrong? I'm falling over at the first hurdle?

Are you using a domain admin account or schema admin account?? I
recall some functions in MSDSS requiring schema admin access.

It may be worth a try...

Thanks for the reply. I thought I would never get a reply.

Yes, I realised this and for the W2K account I used I made sure that
the account I was using was assigned to the `Administrators`, `Domain
Admins`, `Enterprise Admins` and `Schema Admins` groups. The account
on the Novell server used is the main administrator's account.

Everything seems correct. The accounts used should give me full
access to the whole lot. I do recall the synchronisation process
actually modifying the W2K's schema.

The error itself seems to indicate that it's can't find a path of some
sorts on the Novell's NDS. The Novell setup is simple. A single
server with two organisation units. One for accounts and the other
for everyone else.

Anyone else got any clues?

[English - inglés]

We are going to see, which you must do is to put the administrator name and next the context.

Of this one form:

admin.<here the name of context >

for example:

admin.primarycontext

Remember that if single you put the name "admin", you are not going to
be able to continue.
