photo programmes

I have 2 photo editing programmes, photo explosion and
photo express. Both these programmes fail to work, yet
they show up in the processes as being active.
Can anyone help me ?
when i double click the exe.. the egg timer comes on for
a few seconds as if its starting up, then nothing.
I have reinstalled both programmes and also deleted
registry edits when uninstalled, Im using xp pro.

Have these programs EVER worked for you? Have you checked with the
publishers to determine whether they are supposed to be XP compatible? In my
experience any "plain vanilla" program written for earlier versions of
Windoze should work transparently on XP but clearly not all programs are
compatible.
