Windows XO professional SP2

Nothing of new in the PC, I only have changed the ethernet adsl modem with
another ethernet modem

but now, from some days, I have a lot of errors (never seen before) as so:

Tipo evento: Errore
Origine evento: PerfNet
Categoria evento: Nessuno
ID evento: 2002
Data: 26/06/2006
Ora: 13.05.41
Utente: N/D
Computer: DFI
Descrizione:
Impossibile aprire il servizio Redirector. I dati sulle prestazioni del
servizio Redirector non saranno restituiti. Il codice di errore restituito
si trova nella DWORD 0 dei dati.

What is the Redirector service? Online I can't found nothing

and what is Perfnet and it's goal?

can I disenable those services without problems?

an how???

suggest you boot into "safe mode" , remove the entry for your NIC ...then
reboot and let windows reinstall the drivers.

this should reset your network settings and "hopefully" make your problem go
away ...

let us know!

simple answer: don't worry about them, they are not important. Most likely
you ran a .NET application, and it tried to access some non-active
performance counter.

to control them you need the "Extensible Performance Counter Lister" tool
(exctrlst.exe), part of the support tools package. Google for it, and READ
THE INSTRUCTIONS before futzing with it. (it has a pretty good companion
..DOC file).

I downloaded and lauched exctrlst.exe: ALL the performance counters are
enabled, the perfnet.dll too :-(
