pdf attachements to email

Now that I am using Vista and Windows Mail - Every time I try to open a .pdf
file attachment it says no program associated. However, when I look at my
program associations it is clearly set to open with Adobe Reader 7.

Now that Microsoft and Windows Vista have come out with their own .xps
format they seem to be doing all they can to block Adobe. I can't even put
my full version of Adobe Acrobat on this system since it is not compatible.

I now have to save the .pdf attachments to a folder and then exit windows
mail to open the attachment. It works fine then, but what a hassle.

Also I use multiple email accounts and I used to be able to switch them in
Outlook Express but now I have to make up another user account and then
switch over to that user account in order to open emails from another
server/email address.

Vista is making my life harder and I am really upset about it.

1) I want to open pdf files right from Windows Mail.
2) I should be able to switch profiles like in Outlook Express.
3) I should be able to install and use my Adobe Acrobat program.

If anyone knows how to set up my Windows Mail to open .pdf files in Acrobat
Reader 7 by just clicking on them I would appreciate the info. It is too
bad that Microsoft and Windows Vista have taken this easy to use beneficial
program and made it so difficult to use.

They want the xps format to take over. None of my friends or fellow
employees can make the .xps reader work on their Windows XP systems. What a
shame.

in case you missed the news announcement, adobe is NOT making upgrades to vista.
in some cases the latest adobe will install on vista so long as uac is enabled.

Uninstall all versions of Adobe (Acrobat) Reader and then either install the
newest version from Adobe or preferably install Foxit:
