PCI Simple Communications Controller

In Device Manager, "Other Devices" there is a large yellow question mark
beside "PCI Simple Communications Device." When I click it, It says I have a
choice of "update driver" and when I explore further it appears that the
device isn't working because there is no driver for it. Trying to update the
driver doesn't work because I don't have one on any disk including the
Windows installation disc.

Where can I find the driver? Dave T.

If everything is working, ignore it. This is sometimes indicative of onboard
motherboard devices that you aren't using.

"PCI Simple Communications Controller" usually refers to a
telephone modem. Download and install the Modem drivers from the
modem's (or motherboard's) manufacturer's web site, if you no longer
have the driver disk that came with the computer or modem.
Alternatively, if you don't use the built-in modem, you can could simply
disable it in the Device Manager, and not worry about it.
