PCI Simple Communications Controller

I have a yellow question mark in Device Manager. Do I
need this and where to I get a driver? Windows SP4
Service Pack contains information. Do I need to download
and install SP4?

you need to install or reinstall the correct drivers for your dial up modem.

Sounds like you have a modem driver that is not installed properly (or you
have an onbarod modem that you aren't using, but is enabled in bios and
waiting for a driver install).

Would recommend you download the drivers for the modem and install them.
Alternatively, if the modem is built into your motherboard and you aren't
using it, you might want to make a quick trip to your bios and see if it is
enabled. Disable it if you don't need it.
