patch package could not be opened

I deleted MSN because I swapped internet providers. I believe it corrupted
my office files (I used outlook for email). I tried to uninstall and
reinstall office, with the cd and product key, but I get the following
message:
This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package
exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to
verify that this is a valid Windows installer patch package.

Help!

You receive the "This patch package could not be opened" errror message in Office 2003, in Office XP, or in Office 2000:

I still think you're great, but now when I try to open outlook, I get a
message that says:
Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The set
of folders could not be opened.

what now?

I assume you've removed the Windows installer information for MS Office. If that's the case, you need to reinstall Office again. That way you re-build the application installer settings again.

"Cannot start MS Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook Window. The set
of folders could not be opened." The same thing is happening to me even when
I uninstalled Office and reinstalled it. I went so far as the upgrade from XP
Home to XP Professional and it still comes up with the same message.
Outlook starts as if it is going to open and within a second the Outlook
screen disappears and this message pops up. HELP. I have not found any
information on this type of problem.... HELP...HELP...HELP!!
