Password Autocomplete - Second Chance

P

Phalanx

I recently visited a webpage that requested a user ID and
password. As I wanted, the browser asked me if I wanted
to save this information for subsequent visits.
Accidently, I hit no. Now, the browser no longer asks me
to save this information. I visit this page quite often
and would like to have this information stored.

I have turned autocomplete off, and then back on hoping
to "reset" this request, to no avail. Doing a
true "reset" (i.e. the reset button in Options) would
result in losing all my current stored user information,
which is not an option. Any ideas on how I can get the
browser to ask me to save this information again?

How did you turn AutoComplete "off"? You should go to Tools > Options >
Content > AutoComplete. Make sure Password is checked. Click OK.

Phalanx,
I've been in this situation a couple of times and the only solution for me
was to clear all passwords.
But...
Protected Storage PassView from http://www.webattack.com/get/pspv.shtml will
help you recover other cached passwords *before* you clear all passwords.

And [preach] you should be keeping a record of passwords and usernames
*somewhere*

How did you turn AutoComplete "off"? You should go to Tools > Options >
Content > AutoComplete. Make sure Password is checked...

And make sure "Prompt me" is checked.
