According to the site, this might be caused by any of these:

An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including
main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including
remote control and antivirus software)

Do you know of a workaround, if say for example my antivirus software is
what is causing all this. I am using McAfee and this problems started after
the installation. PS since the purchase has already been made, replacement
may not be a viable option.

Thanks

Hi

If you're using a broadband connection, disconnect from the Internet then
disable your antivirus program. Does it make any difference?

Hi,

Are you still there Will.

I also don't understand why the error is pointing to ialmdev5.DLL an Intel
Corporation Component GHAL Driver.

Please if you can assist.

Thanks,

Job

Can you boot into safe mode? If so uninstall McCrappy and see if this
problem goes away.

Thanks,

I'll try that out and tell you how it goes tomorrow. Most of my users have
gone home now (it's now 5:41 PM) this side of the globe.

Again thanks.

Please post a copy of the Stop Error report.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Keep pressing the F8
key during Start-Up and select option - Disable automatic restart on
system failure.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure until you have
resolved the problem. Check for variants of the Stop Error message.

What is your computer make and model?

What do yiu have by way of a Windows XP CD

Please post a complete copy of the Stop Error report.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.Do not re-enable automatic restart on system
failure.

Also you will likely find a copy of the Report with some detail missing
in the system log of Event viewer.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Use an Air Duster to remove dust inside the computer casing. Are the
fans working?

Background information on Stop Error message
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms793437.aspx

0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was
referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video
RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus
software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems
(e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).

Its an age old problem... Get the info at this link.
http://www.osronline.com/article.cfm?id=71
For a fix,R.click my computer,properties,advanced,performance,virtual memory,
change button, set C: to "let system manage" click set 2X,close out, restart
pc.

As usual with almost everything he says here, Andrew E. gets this
wrong again. Using a factor (2X or any other factor) is completely
wrong.

So if someone has 64MB of RAM (the official minimum for Windows XP),
he should have 128MB of page file? If your page file is that small,
the computer will hardly be able to run any applications at all.

And if you have 2GB of RAM (more than most people need), you should
have 4GB of page file? That's almost certainly far more than is
needed, and is just a waste of disk space.
