Outlook Hanging frequently

Guest

Hi all,
I have this problem that my outlook hangs very frequently and I have to hard close it and restart it every now and then. I believe this problem is connected to RULEs that I have setup in my outlook. I have several rules and the moment I delete all of them then it does not hang for days and days BUT the moment I create them again, the same problem starts.

Can you guys share your thoughts on the same.
Regards

If you are in an exchange enviroment, delete and then add
your profile back. Remember where you put your .PST file
and go through the setup again.

In an Exchange environment mail and rules are stored on the mail server; not
in a pst-file. Removing and recreating the profile will not delete the rules
created on the mailserver.

The rules are basically moving the mails based on their subject line and/or from address to various folders in my LOCAL pst file. Yes I am in the exchange server env. I had this problem 2 times in the morning within 1 hr and then when I deleted all the rules since then no problems

My desktop is XP

Do you open your mailbox on any other version of Microsoft Office Outlook?
Now that your rules are deleted try adding them one by one and see where it
goes wrong. You can only have up to 32KB of rules in an Exchange
environment.
