Outlook Auto-resolve for Groups and other issues

R

Rick Herman

We are using Exchange 2000 with the Outlook 2002 SP1 client. Here is
my delema.

1. Is there a way to get Outlook to auto-resolve a group name? It is
currently only working for indivudual names. I have many groups in
the GAL and in my Contacts folder. I would like to be able to type a
group name and have it perform the same auto-resolve action to
complete the group name in the TO: field.

2. I have a few users that have thier Contacts folder set up by last
name. When they type a name in the TO: field it auto-resolves by last
name to the Contacts folder, however the GAL is set up by first name.
In order to get an address from there the users has to type in the
first name for autoresolve to find it. This is too confusing for the
users. Is there a way to change the auto-resolve feature for THESE
USERS ONLY to search both the Contacts and GAL by last name while
leaving other users as they are?

Thanks for your help.

1) Autoresolution should work the same regardless, assuming the name is
unique. If you're seeing other behavior, provide detials. Note that this is
autoresolution, not autocompletion.

2) No. The GAL resolution setting applies to all users
