Outlook 2007 restore emails after factory restore on cmpt

4 I am using Vista and needed to do factory restore on the cmpt. I followed
the backup and restore feature before I did the factory restore. I'm trying
to retrieve my emails and cannot do so. I've done the 'restore' and my
contacts came back but not my calendar info or emails. I found a file on
disk #3 with Outlook and .pst files (archive and Outlook). I've copied them
into another folder on the hard drive and then used the import function to
get them. Problem is they are emails that are 1-3 years old and nothing from
the current year. I haven't been able to find anymore Outlook files. Would
these older ones have been saved after the current one? I have 5 disks of
the backup (DVD) due to pictures so there are lots of files to look through.

Look for any and all .PST files (make sure you search within hidden folders),
make sure they're NOT marked read-only, and don't import -- open them from
within Outlook via File | Open | Outlook Data File. See if any of the files
has your data.

If not, try running the Inbox Repair Tool against each file (close it out of
Outlook first -- right click its root folder, then Close) to see if the tool
finds any errors. Search your drive for a file called scanpst.exe and run
it. Allow the program to make a backup of each file before it makes any
changes.
