Outlook 2007 can't save meeting request without sending out updates

Hi all

I just migrated from Outlook 2003 to 2007. First problem I encountered was
meeting requests.

After a meeting request was created and sent to all our attendees, I want to
add note to that meeting on my calendar but I don't want other attendees to
get the note I am saving. In Outlook 2003, it was a breeze. It lets me save
the note without forcing me to send update. Without Outlook 2007, it is not
possible. Of course, maybe I am doing something wrong but... anyone know if
it's possible? If so, how?

Thanks!

Try this:

Hit save. Answer don't save but keep open. Click x to close. Chose the
close, no update option. Open the meeting - it should have the update on it.

So you just hit ESC after editing the message body and you get a dialog that
says Save but don't send?

My choices are Save and Send Updates and Don't Save - see
http://www.slipstick.com/Tutorials/ESC/ESC.html. I hit ESC the first time
(twice actually since I'm editing by pasting) - no save but don't send
dialog.

Are you editing anything besides the notes?. If I edit the time or
subject, or location, then I/you have to "crash" out using the "X"

It works.... I click the save icon on title bar and click the X to close the
dialog box. OL2007 really has made my scheduling a bit trickier.

Nope. I'm not doing anything funky. It's apparently a difference in how
Outlook works on Vista and WinXP - I can repro it every time on Vista and it
works as expected on XP. There are two bugs - one that the dialog says don't
save but it does and another when after some time has passed, editing and
closing with the x brings up the dialog. Ok, 3 bugs - that it works
differently on xp and vista.
