Outlook 2003 sending error "Task 'Hotmail - sending' reported error (0x80004005)

When sending email today from hotmail, msn, or gmail using OUtlook 2003, I receive the message:

Task 'Hotmail - sending' reported error (0x80004005) : 'The operation failed.'

I am able to receive and send email from other accounts. Help? Thank you!
