Outlook 2003 'New Mail Desktop Alert' Doesn't Work

N

I have this option enabled in Outlook 2003 Advanced E-mail Options, running
on WinXP Pro SP1, yet I've never once seen the actual Alert appear
(transparent message box) when e-mail is received. The Preview Alert works
fine.

I have NAV 2003 Standard running with the Office Plug-in enabled & scanning
of incoming & outgoing mails, yet the problem persists even when I disable
the NAV Auto-Protect. Is there a conflict between the Outlook Alert & NAV
2003, or is it something else?

Is there a way to get the old alert box back from XP that displayed an alert
box on your screen when you get new mail? Thanks!

I wanted one that displays an alert that has OK and/or CANCEL on it whenever
any message arrives that stays in front of all windows. Does it have that?
Thanks!

the next to the last item in the actions dialog when setting up a rule is
display specific message in new item alert window - is that what you are
looking for?

Thanks - I guess that will work though I wanted something as the default w/o
having to create a new rule. Thanks again!
