I also have a user that has this same problem. He has Outlook XP with SP2. I can't seem to even do a manual archive. The process is so quick and doesn't produce any error messages (displayed or in the deleted items folder) and archive.pst files are created with the Outlook folder structure but no emails archived. I found this article from Microsoft that points to the user mailbox exceeding the Exchange Server message store.

Even after decreasing the user's mailbox on the server I still can't seem to manually archive the mailbox. I have Exchange 2000 server Standard Edition with SP 3 on Windows 2000 SP3. The user machine is Windows XP pro SP1 with Office XP SP2
