Outlook 2000 Email Send/Recieve Delay

I have some users who, after upgrading their OS from 2000
to XP, have reported that when they compose an email and
click "Send", the blue (1) will appear next to their
outbox, and the message will stay there for a few minutes
before being sent out. If the user clicks on their outbox,
it gets sent immediately, and if the user clicks on
the "Send/Recieve" button, it gets sent immediately. Also,
when eiether of these events happens, sometimes a batch of
new emails arrive in the inbox. The clients should be
fetching and sending email as soon as it is available,
instead of batching. Any suggestions?

Thanks Jeff.
Thats not the problem exactly, but gave me the clue needed
to find out what was. It's not a ICMP server firewall, but
the built in XP Internet Connection Firewall that has been
blocking the packets from our exchange server.

Can anyone tell me what settings I would need to enable on
the firewall to allow these UDP packets through? Or,
specifically, what ports Exchange sends the packets on?

Thanks.
