Outgoing Mail Server Authentication in Outlook 97?

I am trying to set up a new e-mail account in which I would like to use SMTP
relaying to access the mail server directly for outgoing mail. The service
providers instructions are written for Outlook 2000. I can't find where to
configure the "My outgoing server requires authentication" as I can in
Outlook Express. Is this not available in Outlook 97?
