"Ouja board" cursor

I have windows 2000 on my Dell laptop. Several times a
week my cursor will begin moving on it's own usually to
the side or top of the screen. (I know, holy Ouja board,
Batman) This happens both with my touch pad on laptop and
when I have my computer docked and am using my wireless
mouse. Replacing the battery in my mouse didn't help.
Sometimes rebooting solves the problem but other times it
doesn't and I just give up and try much later. It has
always eventually begun to behave normally again at some
point. Any suggestions as I'd really like to stop cursing
my cursor? Thanks in advance for any help.

Chris! You were right. It was the eraser mouse with some
dirt lodged underneath it. I was able to reproduce the
ouja board cursor problem by fiddling with the eraser
mouse as well as typing the surrounding keys. A good
cleaning around the eraser mouse solved everything. Many
thanks. Peter VH
