osk in Vista very very slow

Hi ,

my MFC application calls the internal onscreen keyboard osk for touchscreen
purpose (2000, XP). But now in Vista the osk takes about 15-20 sec to pop up.
With this behaviour I can NOT use it further on. Why is the osk so so slowly
in Vista? Does anybody know a solution for this problem? Thanks for any hint.

hello.. this is strange..

I have not had any problems with OSK on vista...

Someone reported a very slow launch of notepad after some updates....he
fixed it by runing windows update

another person said the same thing about calculator plus.. for me that
worked fine too, for him it was a no-go

perhaps this is connected?

Thanks for the suggestion. Taking your advice, I ran Windows Update. And
suddenly Notepad launches briskly again. Why this should fix the problem is
a mystery to me. Obviously Windows Vista has some very odd plumbing.

Hi Michael,

Notepad is running just fine here, but I have the same problem with another
MS program : Calculator+
A Windows update or Microsoft update does not help in my case though.
