Open excel document in read-only mode

When I select a file in Windows Explorer and right click with the shift
button pressed, I get an additional option "Open as Read-Only". While this is
working fine for Winword, when I try this with an Excel file is opening with
edit rights. Using Office 2003 Professional Edition SP1.
