How do I force Excell to open a new instance when I open
more then one spreadsheet, instead of just opening
another workbook??

That didn't work. It made it to where I have 2 separate
excel instances on my toolbar, but I can't view bot at
the same time.

If you open the second file via File|open, that second workbook will open in the
running instance.

If you open the file via a shortcut or doubleclicking in windows explorer, this
may help:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (Check it)

Roger,

When you open a file, it's another document in the existing instance of
Excel. You can start Excel again (from the Start button) for another
instance.

Roger,

I have observed that I have to open a second instance of Excel by clicking
"Start", "Programs", and then the Excel icon. I also can start the second
instance by clicking on the Excel icon I have in Quick Launch toolbar next
to the Start button. Once I have the second instance open, then I can open
another file in it.
