On shut down how do I make the Shut Down option the default?

I am part of a domain and I want to make the Shut Down option the default
option when a user starts the shut down process. I know it isn't that hard
but it is apparent that the users just don't get that they have to select
shut down if it isn't selected to get hte system to shut down.

Thanks,

Bruce

Change the logon mode to use CTRL-ALT-DEL. When the user clicks on Start
-Shut Down, they will be presented with the classic shutdown dialog, which
will remember the "last-used" value.

Wyocowboy,

Thanks for the reply. I am already doing that. What I am looking for is a
way to force the shut down to be the default no matter what they selected
last time. Once it gets restart gets selected they can't seem to get it that
they need to select shut down again no matter what I say.

You any wheres close to Gillette or Recluse?

Thanks,

Bruce

Mmmm.. I'm guessing that would have to be a registry hack. I haven't looked,
but I doubt it is settable in group policy

Nah, I'm on the other side of the state, over near Yellowstone Park.

Not really what you asked for but you can make a shortcut that will run
the shutdown command and place it on the desktop or in the Start menu.

An example command that will force all applications to close and
shutdown immediately:

shutdown -s -f -t0

Wyocowboy,

That is what I though also. I am looking around for the hack but I haven't
found it yet.

I have property over by Recluse that I will be retiring to. I wanted to get
closer to Yellowstone but couldn't find anything.

Thanks for the reply.

There is property for sale around here (Cody) but it is likely to be much
more expensive than around Recluse.
