OK to delete .log & .log.gz files?

I have 2 directories on my site that I did not put there. They contain .log and .log.fz files. I assume they are created when I publish the site. May/should I delete the files and/or directories... on both the local and the remote site?

Are they on both your local machine and remote site?

Yes, they are on both sites. I really don't know if they were on my local site before, but I synchonized the sites, because I did not know of any other way to look at the form results files.

They are not FP related
They are log files generated by your host server
- ask you host before you delete them (they may not allow you to)
Delete them in your local (PC web) and in your online web ask your host to put them into a FP subweb
