This isn't a security patch, so it isn't covered by the security
notifications bulletin subscription.

There are several issues that this patch attempts to fix, one of which is
widely known as the "watched thread" bug. I can't quickly describe this
one, but most folks who have used OE as a newsreader have probably run into
it at one time or another. Another bug relates to how binary attachments
are detected and decoded by OE, if I understand it correctly.

You can sign up here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/render.aspx?displaylang=en&content=notifications

for notifictions from the download center, but I've not used this service,
so I'm not sure how "granular" it is--there are a LOT of downloads.

Unfortunatelly this patch is rather a piece of junk :-(

It does not solve the problem with the word "begin".. Even the info about
this patch misleads, as the problem exist when the "begin" is in the body,
not in the subject of the email..

MS didn't carefully tested this patch, I'm affraid..

I'm no expert but I think this is an interim solution to a problem. OE7 is
due to come out soon.

Really? I don't think so.. It states, that this patch solves some problems,
but it apparently does not. Besides OE7 is not going to run on all the MS
systems as the OE6 is, isn't it? And furthermore - OE7 is still an expected,
not an used solution..

So the patch designed for currently running systems/apps shouldn't be an
"interim" solution.. And shouldn't be a fake..
