Nvidia drivers

Alright, here's my situation. I just reformated my drive.
Installed Win 2k. Updated it to SP4. I go to install my
video card drivers, restart the computer, it's begins
loading, but as soon as it gets to the screen where I have
to enter a password, the monitor just turns off like I had
turned the computer off and it was going to sleep. Yet the
computer is still on, just sitting there. I have tried a
bunch of old drivers and new drivers. I did just upgrade
my computer about 2 weeks ago. I now run a K7 Triton
Mother board, AMD 2600 Cpu, Geforce2 MX Graphics card,
Soudblaster Audigy 2 Sound card. 512 ram. The only way to
get back into my system is to go in under safe mode,
uninstall the nvidia drivers, and restart. But as soon as
I install any of the drivers, even The detonator, it just
does the same exact thing. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had that board.. my solution was to use an old pci video
card, install the drivers and updates and then replace the
nvidia card.. don't know why.. but it worked
