NVIDIA Driver reverts to wrong driver

I have an NVIDIA Geforce4 MX420 card install in my Dell machine with Windows
XP Home. I am getting an error in the Device Manager, so I am trying to
install the driver again. If I do an automatic find driver, it finds the
driver for the NVIDIA Geforce4 MX420 WITH TV OUT, this does not work properly
with some games. If I manually select the NVIDIA Geforce4 MX420 driver, all
works fine until I restart the machine, in which case it again shows the
error in the Device Manager. If I then do update driver, it installs the
driver with TV OUT.

Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Go to NVidia support. Find instructions for removing and then
reinstalling the driver. Follow the instructions exactly.

Thanks Quaoar, but I have done this a number of time, both in normal mode and
in safe mode, and the same problem persists.

Any further suggestions -- PLEASE!!!!!
