NTVDM has encountered a system error The handle is invalid

This error message has been coming up a lot. The title
bar of the window says "16 bit Windows subsystem." I'd
like to get rid of it, it's very irritating. Aside from
the error message coming up pretty much constantly, things
seem to be working normally.
