NTLDR is missing

A Win2K Pro workstation started with this error. The
knowledge base only says to start the system with a boot
disk or call support. I'm looking for a resolution. Any
ideas?

As a first step I recommend that you follow the kb
suggestion:
1. Take a floppy disk that was formatted on a Win2000 PC.
2. Copy these files to it:
- ntldr
- ntdetect.com
You can find both in the i386 directory of your Win2000 CD.
3. Create a:\boot.ini. It should look like this:
[Boot Loader]
Timeout=3
Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows
2000 Professional" /fastdetect
(unwrap line)

Now boot with this disk and report the result.
