Not retaining incoming server name or account name after reboot

Rick

Every time I shut down my computer and bring it back up,
my incomming serever and acount name are changed in
Outlook, so I am unable to send/recieve mail. After I
change it back it will stay untill I reboot again. I am
running Outlook 2000 on a XP machine. Any Ideas?

What is it changed to? If 127.0.0.1 it's probably a spamfilter or
virusscanner you are using which acts as a proxy to scan your mail before
delivering it to Outlook.

It is changing from mail.comcast.net to local host, and
acount name has mail.comcast.net added to it.

This is caused by a virusscanner/spamfilter indeed. Check the documentation
on how to disable/configure it.
