Not able to "Save AS" Excel worksheet

I installed Office XP Pro on WIN XP computer and it was
working, installed Office 97 Pro and it appeared to be
working .... then problem developed as to not being able
to "SAVE AS" only the my documents came up and not able
to go to C:\ etc...

uninstalled office 97 and Office XP and reinstalled XP
and same problem?

Any suggestions?

First of all, remove every track of previous office.
It is tedious but I search through registry and remove everything
I find.

For Office 97

Don't know if other versions of office might have tools as well

Once you have cleaned them out, start by installing 97 first on another
drive,
then xp. I have several versions on one pc (office 2000 Swedish, US office
xp and office 2003)
