No Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller is available for domain

Bob

I get this message every now and then, whether running
NT, W2K or XP workstation. Not all workstations - some.

We still run an NT domain (not much longer) and my domain
controller is available. Some suggestions I found were to
stop/start Netlogon on the server - I did.

When I browse network Neighborhood, the computer name is
being broadcasted. We use DHCP on NT and that assigns an
address, use DNS on W2K Server, and that is working fine.

I just don't like seeing the above message ---- anybody
know how to eliminate ? what can be the cause ?

Thanks,
Bob

Sorry no solution, just support that you are not alone. We
too see this problem. We have a mix of W98, W2k and WXPpro
desktops, NT4, W2k and W2k advanced servers. Events happen
anything up to a month apart. Server sees the event about
every 4 to 5 days.

We do get an occasional backup failure, resulting from
this event happening during Backup setup phase.

We have Two NT4 domains with trust relationship, both
suffer; 3 Com switched 10/100 hubs, 35 users per site. 2
and 3 servers respectively.

Currently trying to rule out switches as possible cause.

Anybody elso out there we this problem?
