New hardware found problem since changed CMOS / BIOS battery

Hello

I recently had to change the battery for my computer's CMOS as it was
running out.

I now get a 'Found New Hardware Wizard' dialogue saying it will help
install software for: Multimedia Audio Controller.

I don't know what this is but if I do click on next with the default
'Install the software automatically' option selected the wizard
informs me that it could not find the software on the computer and
asks if want to connect to the internet to look for it. I always click
on 'Cancel' as I don't know what this new hardware is and it doesn't
seem so far to have affected my use of the computer.

After I cancel the first dialogue a second dialogue that is exactly
the same comes up and I cancel that one too and then my computer seems
to run OK

Can someone tell me what is going on? I think that maybe there was a
CMOS/BIOS setting telling the computer to ignore the Multimedia Audio
Controller hardware whatever that is and the loss of power due to the
battery failure caused this setting to be lost and therefore I need to
tell the computer to ignore it again. Is this how it works?

Also I don't understand why the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' comes up
twice.

Thanks

My guess is the onboard audio is now enabled in the BIOS but was
disabled before the battery swap.

Wizard shows up twice most likely because its more then just a single
device, for example some have Joystick ports, MIDI ports, etc. and
requires driver(s).
