Networking-computers don't see each other

Okay, this has probably been answered, but I'm getting really frustrated with
this! Both computers are getting internet service, and when I go into My
Network Places, and go to "view workgroup computers" it only shows whichever
computer I'm on. What am I doing wrong?

Are both computers configured to the same Workgroup name but with
different computer names? That is the most common cause of this type
of issue.

Second most common cause is firewall settings. Assuming you have a
router with cable/dsl internet connected to the router, try
disconnecting the cable/dsl connection (for safety reasons) then
shutting off the firewalls on both computers. They should now see
each other although a reboot may be necessary first.

Good luck
