I just upgraded my two Win98 machines to Windows XP, and one seems to
have suffered a huge slowdown in network traffic, both sending and
receiving, whilst the other is relatively unaffected.
Example: before upgrading, both could move a 6MB file across the
network in around 12-15 seconds. After the upgrade, one machine is
taking 40-80 seconds to do the same task, and even when it succeeds,
the transfer rate fluctuates wildly. Any ideas why upgrading to XP
might cause this behaviour?
