Network sharing only works with IPX

I've seen people asking similar questions, but I have a strange
occurance.

I've eliminated everything but two computers on my network; one
W2K/SP4 and one XP/SP1.

Having only TCP/IP as a networking protocol, I share folders, and get
the above error when I try to access them from the other machine. The
W2K systems shows the XP computer when browsing "My Network Places",
but gets the error when you try to browse it.

I have Netbios enabled on both TCP control panels.

Strangely; if I install IPX protocol, the browsing starts working
immediately, and works perfectly.I know the solution would be to just
leave IPX installed, but I'd like to figure out why they can't browse
each other just using TCP/IP.

Any suggestions?

Make sure all computers are in the same workgroup and that all useraccounts
exist on all computers. Got File- and printersharing loaded?

If you want to be able to browse my network, you better make sure all the
useraccounts exist on all computers.
