network router sees both computers. but computers aren't talking to each other

my network router sees x.x.x.100 and x.x.x.101. computer
one can only see itself. 2nd computer can only see
itself. both are xp pro. both have their c drives
shared. both run network wizard. yet nether can see the
other. both can connect to the internet. can anyone
tell me how to get both computers see each other and
start sharing files and folders?

Run the network wizard again and tell it that the computers connect to
the Internet through a "residential gateway". Other connection
options can cause the wizard to block file and printer sharing.
