Hi
Does anyone know if it is possible--within XP--to accomplish this?
I would rather not buy an aftermarket product...which I assume would
be partition magic.
TIA.

You'll have to buy a third-party product to do this, nothing that
comes with XP can do it. You're right, the product to check is
Partition Magic (www.powerquest.com).

Sorry, no, it's not possible within Windows XP. A third-party
product is required. Partition Magic is one (but not the only)
such choice.

To do so without formatting, you will need partitioning software.
BootIT NG from Terabyte has a 30 demo.
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/
PartitionMagic from PowerQuest

Only with third party software. Partition MAgic 8, or BootIT NG, from
http://www.BootitNG.com ($35 shareware - 30 day full functional trial)

Or by scrubbing the drive clean and starting over as part of a new
install.
